Finley came out firing, with great speed and youth across the centre court, taking an early lead, while the Lions were still finding their feet.

Mulwala settled, with Bre and Cara working tirelessly in defence to create numerous turnovers.

Casey and Grace worked the ball well through the midcourt while EJ and Marissa worked hard to make position in the goal ring.

Eliza Strawhorn returned to the side providing drive and speed in the ring.
The Lions had a much better second half, trialling new combinations and gaining some momentum towards the end.

Finley bounced back in the second quarter outrunning the Mulwala girls and finding some rhythm down the court.

The second half belonged to Mulwala with an increase in intensity and allowing the ball to flow down the court nicely with Jade and Tayla combining well in goals.

The defenders applied great one on one pressure to ensure a strong win - a great game by all.

Finley came out strong looking for the win, taking the lead from the start and forcing the Mulwala girls to come together and fight back.

Some positional changes found Zali in GK providing the team with strong rebounds and multiple intercepts.

Lilly came on into GS helping the movement in the ring while Hollie held her head high the whole game delivering strong passes down the court.

Unfortunately Finley’s shooters were on fire and they were able to come away with an 18 goal win.

The young Lions took the court with conviction and were prepared to give it their all in order to overcome Finley.

With a nail biting first half, it was goal for goal. There was a noticeable difference in the amount on talk and encouragement on the court for one another.

During the third quarter things weren’t going Mulwala’s way and Finley capitalised on this.

After regrouping and going back out the Lions won the last quarter. Unfortunately due to the third quarter deficit, Finley won the game by 7 goals.

Abbey Matthews was dominant all over the court and created a lot of play in the attacking end. In the end the girls came away with a draw, a great result against such a strong Finley side.
